Heeowhat Beach
This is a very pleasant if unspectacular beach in Cape Panwa. The beach is also sometimes called Panwa Beach. It is a quiet area but a new 5-star resort has recently opened here. There is also a little bit of residential property and a few shops on the passing road.
The beach is a kilometer long mixture of sand and shingle. The seabed is sand, mud and stones. It is a very shallow bay and the sea is suited more to paddling than bathing. It s therefore a good location for children to play. There are no sun loungers or activities on this beach.
It is a nice spot for a walk with overhanging coconut palms providing shade.
Around the next bay is Cape Panwa Deep Water Port so you may see a few large ships moored in the distance.
How to Get There
Drive into Cape Panwa on Sakdidet Road. Just keep going, following the signs to Cape Panwa. Approx two kilometers after the fork to Makham Bay, you will see the beach on your left. There are a couple of footpaths through a lightly wooded area to the beach.
Accommodation
The newly opened Raddison Blue Plaza Resort is a lovely beachfront 5-star hotel that is ideal for families and couples. On the other side of the road from the beach is Panwa Guesthouse offering very nice studio rooms at a much lower budget.
