Palai Beach
The main attraction of this beach is the seafood restaurants.
This beach is sand and shingle and the seabed is muddy. Like most of the southern beaches, it is not suited to bathing or snorkeling. There are no sun loungers or water sport activities on this beach.
It is an attractive location and it does have some very nice seafood restaurants including Palai Seafood, Prantalay, Tang Kae Restaurant and Pong Pang Seafood. They all have tanks with live fish, lobsters, crabs, etc.
There are great views of Chalong Bay, Cape Panwa and Koh Lon. The beach is a mooring place for longtail boats.
At the east end of the beach is the mouth of a small river. There are a few floating shellfish farms in the bay.
How to Get There
Palai Beach is at the end of Soi Palai which is off Chao Fa East Road about halfway between Phuket Town and Chalong Circle. This is the same soi as Phuket Zoo so just follow the signs to the zoo and then keep going.
